I have been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for the last 7.Having found a lot of yoga classes very intimidating, I retrained as a yoga teacher in order to offer classes that would be accessible to everyone and not just the ultra thin and bendy!
I have always been a fitness fan with a keen interest in nutrition and learning more about how the body works. As we get older it’s important to devote time to look after our bodies, however it is equally important that we take care of our emotional wellbeing too.
I have a real passion for helping people access the benefits of yoga and pilates to maintain or improve their mental and physical health in a holistic and sustainable way.
Through my commitment to professional development and being a bit of an anatomy geek I have studied yoga anatomy in depth and am fascinated by the fascial system within the body. This led me to train in sports massage therapy so I can continue to keep clients mobile and hopefully pain free and also helps bring another level of understanding of the body and its movement patterns to my classes.
I chose the Lotus flower as my logo as it is a symbol that is close to my heart.
The roots of the Lotus grow in the mud, whilst the flower blossoms and rises above the water.
In Buddhism it is thought that the mud represents the obstacles and challenges of life and the flower is a symbol of the journey to overcome these obstacles. Learning to rise again and become better versions of ourselves as we grow from our experiences.
